The Fouga CM170 first appeared in 1959 with the French Air Force.
929 airplanes were manufactured in France.
Used by 20 countries, it served as a trainer for acrobatics, bombing, air to ground, air to air combat.
You will be able to be one of those 15000 pilots trained on the FougaCM170.
Authorized Experimental Aircraft Ratings Current Guidance contained in 8700.1, Chapter 32, paragraph 7, items 1 - 4 is still valid for eligibility requirements:
A. Surplus Military Turbine-Powered Airplanes. To be eligible to serve as PIC of a surplus military turbine-powered aircraft, an applicant must:
(1) Possess at least a private pilot certificate with an appropriate category and class rating (e.g., Airplane, single-engine land), and
(2) Possess at least a valid third class medical certificate.
(3) The applicant must have logged a minimum of 1,000 hours of pilot flight time, including 500 hours as PIC in the airplane category, or
(4) Have logged a minimum of 500 hours of pilot flight time in the airplane category and have completed the U.S. armed services qualification checkout described in paragraph 9A(1) of this section.

Vous volerez dans le complex R2508 ( zone d'evolution ) de California City pres de la base de l' Air Force d'Edwards , China Lake , de la Vallee de la Mort , ce complex etant controle par les militaires qui ont l'habitude avec des avions de combats supersoniques , donc pas de problemes pour le Fouga CM170 et vous n'aurez pas la gendarmerie qui vous attendra a l'arrivee de votre vol apres une navigation basse.
